Hello – we are glad you found 4lthangrund and want to be part of our structure. There are several ways in which you can support us, it can be temporary (e.g., moving, renovation, projects) or on a long-lasting basis. On the page, we will share „Calls for Positions“ we have open (if there currently are) as well as information on how you can participate in the 4lthangrund collective.

Renovation & Moving / Renovierung und Umzug

Our construction space at 4lthangrund is a collective learning ground where we build, repair, and experiment together. We centre accessibility, mutual support, and shared responsibility. Professional training is not required—curiosity, care, and respect are. The process of construction and moving is within the framework of 4lthangrund – therefore, the principles of the „Miteinandermanifest“ apply here. https://4lthangrund.jetzt/grundsaetze-und-miteinander/

There are some aspects to point out in relation to the common planning and physical work, as well as the process of moving and renovation.

We aim to create a practical, queer feminist construction site. Everyone is encouraged to try things, ask questions, and learn at their own pace. We create a space where technical knowledge should be shared.

Mansplaining, gatekeeping, and assuming competence based on gender, identity, or physicality are not welcome. Instead, we aim for transparent communication, consent in collaboration, and active communication.

We move together – we aim for decisions and processes to be collective. 4lthangrund as a collective holds the frame. Also on on-site decisions should not overrule planning and long-lasting decision-making.

We learn together – knowledge should be shared horizontally.

We care for each other – emotional and physical safety are priorities.

We take space and make space & we stay accountable – to ourselves, to each other, and to the community.

This construction space is not only about building structures—it’s about a safer, joyful and communal process of making. Everyone contributes what they can, and together we create our collective space.

Bei 4lthangrund mitmachen // Becoming part of 4lthangrund

4LTHANGRUND ist eine Kollektiv, das aus Personen besteht, die Kulturarbeit machen, teilweise Bewohner_innen der Umgebung sind sowie aus weiteren engagierten Personen besteht. Wir haben Raum, der auch gerne von anderen genutzt werden kann.

Wir setzen uns für kulturellen, künstlerischen und sozialen Raum – für Alle – ein. Dabei sind unsere Anliegen mit dem Anspruch von „Recht auf Stadt“ verbunden. Also für eine Stadt zu wirken, in der sich umeinander gekümmert wird und die für Alle zugänglich ist. Unsere Arbeit im Kollektiv ist recht „hands on“. Es geht um Projekte umzusetzen, Programm zu gestalten, Veranstaltungen zu betreuen. Koordinationsarbeit und Planung. Wir treffen uns alle 2 Wochen am Mittwoch und haben mehrere Arbeitsgruppen, bei denen Mitwirken möglich ist. Komm vorbei, wenn du uns und unsere Aktivitäten kennen lernen willst und dich beteiligen willst!

4LTHANGRUND is a collective consisting of people who work in the cultural sector, some of whom live in the area, as well as other engaged individuals. We have space that is also available for others to use.

We are committed to cultural, artistic and social space – for everyone. Our concerns are linked to the demand for the ‘right to the city’. In other words, working towards a city where people care for one another and which is accessible to all. Our work in the collective is quite hands-on. It involves implementing projects, designing programs and supporting events. Coordination and planning. We meet every two weeks on Wednesdays and have several working groups that you can join. Come by if you want to get to know us and our activities and get involved!
